Workshop 1 - Making New Friends

• In this workshop, the attendees can learn about the importance and hardship of forming friendships in a foreign country. They will also be able to discover how to make friends in a comfortable way. The attendees will get an insight into how healthy and long-lasting friendships can positively affect one’s life.

• Breakout Room Leaders Instructions:

1. Welcome everyone to your breakout room and introduce yourself

2. Send the link to the Jamboard to your breakout room and tell everyone to join it

3. Click on the link to the Jamboard and share your screen so everyone can see the Jamboard

4. Read outloud the instructions on Slide 1

5. Go to Slide 2 and read Scenario 1

6. Ask your group to come up with strategies on how to solve this scenario and write it down on the Jamboard

7. Go to Slide 3 and read Scenario 2 (repeat step 6)

8. Go to Slide 4 and read Scenario 3 (repeat step 6)

9. After 15 minutes, pick one person to share the group's strategies for the Reflections part

10. Return to the main meeting and we will discuss the strategies

• Breakout Room Leaders Tips:

  • Guest speakers may join your breakout room to answer questions or share experiences

  • Ask group members to share personal experience

  • Encourage everyone to talk

  • Encourage everyone to make friends with each other

Workshop 2 - Budgeting

Date: March 25th 2022

Time: 8:00pm - 9:30pm EST

• Introduction question

  • What is your idea of budgeting? Saving money or managing money well or investing?

  • What’s included in your budget? What are the activities you do when you're budgeting?

  • Do you feel you’re budgeting well?

• Breakout room question

1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how well do you think you’re managing your budget? Why do you think you’re not at 10? How to get to 10? Barriers?

2. How do/did you start budgeting?

3. What are your goals for budgeting? What are your priorities? How can the community help you reach your goals?

4. What platforms do you use to budget? Does the community help you budget?

5. On a scale of 1 to 10, how well do you know how to invest? What is the difference between budgeting and investing?

  • What are some tips for budgeting or investing?

  • How are you going to update your budget? What is one thing you’re going to do differently?
